When 2-year-old Jameson Callendar of Meridian watches the PBS Sprout network on Wednesday, he will see himself in an animated scene with a giraffe, bird and elephant.

The scene will be part of "PICME," a show that superimposes viewer photographs into the scenes, allowing randomly selected applicants to "star" in the brief daily episodes.

Jameson's episode, called "Opposites," will air on Channel 406 between 5 and 6 p.m.

Jameson's mother, Carol, said her husband, Jim, got the idea to submit the photograph after visiting the program's Web site, where viewer birthday cards can be posted.

"You can see your birthday card on the Web site and everybody else's birthday card that's going to be on that day," Carol said, noting her son probably understands his image will be featured, having already seen his image in the card online.

"We're very excited," she said. "The Sprout channel is really good for kids."

The channel, which presents programming in small segments, is designed to accommodate the preschool attention span, said network spokesperson Barbara Murphy. Shows and topics are patterned to follow a preschooler's typical day, she added.

The 24-hour digital channel was created in 2005 as a partnership among Comcast Corporation, HIT Entertainment, PBS and Sesame Workshop.
