Mary M. Green, 94, of Butler, passed away at Concordia at the Orchard, Butler, on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024.

Mary was born in Butler on March 2, 1930. She was a devoted housewife and mother to her family. She enjoyed yard work, housework (especially laundry) and cooking. She volunteered at Butler Catholic school.

Mary was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Butler.

She is survived by her five children, Vivian (Bill) Wachsmuth of Rochester, Pa., Tom (Kathy) Green and John (Becky) Green, both of Butler, Joyce (Mike) Cully of Renfrew and Donna (Randy) Root of Idaho. She also is survived by 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren!

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don, who passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by two of her children, Joanne in 2010 and Robert in 2017.

The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia for all their love and care they showed their mom during the two and a half years she lived there. Also thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice for their care these last couple of months.

GREEN — Friends of Mary Green, who died Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, will be received at from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Dec. 8, at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A blessing service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in North Oakland, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Butler Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew PA, 16053, or a charity of your choice.
