Kostecky

Lillian Kostecky, 85, of Butler passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024.

She was born in Lyndora on June 29, 1939, to the late Steven and Helen (Strella) Kalan.

Lillian graduated from Butler Area School in 1957, and later in life she continued her education at Butler Beauty School, graduating in 1979. She was employed as a hairstylist for many years at Custom Cut & Style and loved her job. Lillian enjoyed adult coloring later in life. She was a hobbyist and enjoyed many crafts and loved to crochet.

She was the mother of Linda Harris-Kostecky, James Harris and John Kostecky; and sister of Robert Kalan. Lillian is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Bowser-Kalan. She was the grandmother of Jamie (Jim) Claypoole, Matthew (Heather) Kostecky, Kailee and Leah Harris; and great-grandmother of Cade and Callie Kostecky. Lillian also is survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous cousins.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kostecky, who passed away in 2008; her previous husband, James Harris; and her stepson, Donald Kostecky.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses and aides that took care of Lillian.

KOSTECKY — Family and friends of Lillian Kostecky, who died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A blessing service will immediately follow in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
