Concordia Lutheran Ministries
"Home is a haven for rest and comfort; it affords a sense of place and permanence; it fosters relationships, connects generations and grounds us in hope and promise," according to Habitat for Humanity.
Concordia Lutheran Ministries provides a place called home for more than 900 residents in its various facilities.
Through Concordia Visiting Nurses, Good Samaritan Hospice and Concordia Home Help, we afford diversified quality care and services to hundreds of friends and neighbors in their homes.
In 1881, a farm and home were donated to the Pittsburgh Lutheran Churches, and in 1882 these gifts were chartered in Pennsylvania as the Evangelical Lutheran Concordia Home for orphans.
From a small beginning as a home for orphans, Concordia Lutheran Ministries has grown into a continuing care retirement community.
A nonprofit Christian corporation controlled by a board of directors whose members are elected from 37 Missouri Synod Lutheran churches in Western Pennsylvania, Concordia employs more than 1,000 people.
Three Concordia Haven Apartment buildings on our 167-acre campus offer 328 secure, affordable, one- and two-bedroom dwellings where residents can choose to relax or stay as active as they like.
Concordia's skilled nursing services present homelike private and semi-private rooms, numbering 196 beds with 24-hour nursing care and supervision, a medical director who is board certified in gerontology and a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated medical experts at our Cabot campus as well as at Concordia at Rebecca Residence in West Deer Township, Allegheny County.
The adult day care services at Concordia supply licensed support services for caregivers in a safe, comfortable environment. Beyond basic care, Concordia presents therapeutic recreation, ongoing evaluation, specialized care for those with Alzheimer's disease and pastoral visits.
Concordia at Ridgewood Place in Plum Borough, Allegheny County, Concordia at Rebecca Residence and Concordia at the Orchard in Butler, as well as on our main campus, are assisted- living facilities that have the comforts of home in an elegant, safe and affordable setting.
To live as independently as possible is the goal of Concordia's outpatient rehabilitation services, which include physical, occupational and speech therapy. Concordia Home Help, in association with Presbyterian Senior Care, can help you gain independence or speed up your recovery time.
If you or someone you love requires professional nursing or therapeutic care delivered in the comfort of your own home, Concordia Visiting Nurses offers registered nurses, therapists, social workers and other professionals providing care based on the needs and preferences of each individual.
Our newest mission is the Good Samaritan Hospice, the only freestanding, nonprofit program serving as both a home care and residential hospice for people in Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties facing a life-limiting illness.
