Sugar Creek Rest
Sugar Creek Rest in 2004 made several improvements for its residents and staff.
Sugar Creek Rest added its own in-house therapy company. This has provided more services such as electro-stimulation, body massage and wound care at a better price.
The facility's drinking water system was improved with the addition of a 70,000-gallon storage tank that provides fire protection and the addition of a fire suppression sprinkler system later.
Several new committees were formed at Sugar Creek Rest including a staff wellness committee and a customer service committee. Consumer eye surveys are also now being regularly performed by Sugar Creek Rest employees trained to survey the facility from a customer's point of view.
Many new faces joined Sugar Creek Rest's Quality Care Team, including a certain "fuzzy" face - Faithful, the new golden retriever mascot. Residents, staff and family members alike are thrilled with the newest addition to the Sugar Creek Rest family.
A certified registered nurse practitioner position was added to review residents' laboratory reports, perform routine and emergency examinations and review medication regimens. This position is supervised by Sugar Creek Rest's medical director and will provide more timely services to the residents of the skilled nursing and personal care units.
Sugar Creek Rest wishes to thank everyone for their support during the past year. 2004 was another year of wonderful first's for Sugar Creek Rest and 2005 is expected to be much of the same.
