Gateway Engineers
From major suburban shopping centers and executive corporate high-rises to professional sport arenas and public recreational facilities, the Gateway Engineers Inc. has played a major part in the development of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Headquartered in Green Tree, the full service civil engineering company has been in business for over 50 years and has changed at lot during this time. But one thing that has not changed is the company's respect for and relationship with both its clients and its employees.
To better meet client's tight deadlines and project budgets, Gateway has evolved into a project management focused organization and its staff train vigorously to efficiently execute projects. From an operational perspective, the company has seen an overhaul in systems and staffing structures.
"We have been lucky enough to have both clients and employees who have been with us for over 55 years," said Ruthann L. Omer, P.E., and president of The Gateway Engineers.
In December 2004, Gateway joined with Butler County based Gray-Warnick Engineering.
"The joining of our two companies just made sense," said Gateway Executive Vice President Dan Deiseroth, P.E. "Gateway has been the township's engineer since 1992 and we had heard great things about Gray-Warnick in that time."
Joe Gray, P.E., former owner and president of the Gray-Warnick Engineering, has been a progressive leader in the Butler area.
As the engineer for Butler, Mr. Gray saw an opportunity to expand the services he could offer the city and his private clients through letting Gateway buy the up-and-coming Gray-Warnick company. The partnership has allowed Mr. Gray to take even more time to commit to special projects such as the Kidszone Playground in Alameda Park and community organizations such as the A.M. Rotary and the Butler County Chamber of Commerce.
Joe Gray, P.E., vice president of Gateway Gray-Warnick, said, "We have been able to grow in capabilities and have been given the tools to make us more effective and efficient on projects. Both our clients and our employees have benefited from this and we look toward the future with great optimism."
A little more than a year has passed since the two companies joined and the results are phenomenal.
Gray said, "Our employees work, live and play in this community and we want to encourage the future development of the surrounding area through becoming increasing involved in community action programs and groups to ensure the prosperity of this region for years to come."
Gateway Engineers is a full service civil engineering firm with principe markets in municipal engineering, land development and surveying while also servicing the water/waster design and treatment, structural engineering, landscape architecture, G.I.S. mapping and inspection/materials testing markets.
