A LOOK BACK
In the early 1900s, Butler had several ice cream manufacturers. This building, which housed
Thompson Bros. Ice Cream Co. at 400 W. Castle St. from 1913 to about 1960, stands today. The company's 1940 advertisement states: "Pure Ice Cream made in Butler from Butler county cream and sold in Butler." A quart cost 30 cents.
