THE RACE IS ON

In January of 1965, the Bash Speedway was in its infancy. Located on West Jefferson Street in the wash bay of the Bash Service Station, the slot car track featured four divisions of model racing. Bob Bash is at front, left, standing next to his son, Harold. The Bash Speedway offered 81 feet of four-lane track with individual lap counters and controllers. At the time, a kit car cost about $3 and a controller was about the same. The track had opened for racing just prior to Christmas.
