PITTSBURGH - Free agent center Chukky Okobi re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday.

Okobi backed up starting center Jeff Hartings in all 16 games in 2003. He started five games in 2002 when Hartings missed time with a knee injury.

Okobi originally signed with the Steelers in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL draft. He is the fifth Steelers free agent to re-sign with the team this offseason, joining tight end Matt Cushing, wide receiver Chris Doering, linebacker Clark Haggans and fullback Dan Kreider.
