Zach Jackson, a junior on the Texas A&M baseball team, fired a two-hit shutout in a 4-0 victory over the University of Kansas Saturday.

Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, faced two batters over the minimum and needed only 106 pitches in the nine-inning game.

Jackson (7-2) retired the final 19 batters he faced. He struck out nine and didn't walk a batter.

With the win, the No. 15-ranked Aggies improved to 29-8 overall, 6-5 in Big 12 action.

Travis Geisler of Cranberry Township finished 24th in the 43-car field at the Pepsi 300 NASCAR Busch Series race Saturday at the Nashville Superspeedway.Michael Waltrip won the race.

Freshman Raisa Weiss set a Slippery Rock University women's track and field pole vault record of 11 feet, six inches Saturday, winning that event at the PSAC West Challenge, hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania.SRU won the team championship in men's and women's. Weiss' pole vault mark was the top mark recorded by a PSAC competitor this year - seventh best in Division II - and earned her a provisional berth in the national championship meet.
