Mike Miller of Chicora won the modified and super modified races Sunday at Shadetree Speedway. He also won the rain makeup super modified race from May 2.

Other winners include Rich Connors of Butler (stock), Dave Lipscomb of Fenelton (outlaw stock), Steve Ace of Parker (stock, modified from May 2) and Matt Thompson of Ellwood City (outlaw from May 2).

The Aubrey's Dubbs Dred quartet of John Aubrey, R.J. Olanyk, Harry Roth and Tom Boozel finished second at the Nike Pro-3 Amateur at Williams Country Club in Weirton, W.Va.The foursome carded a 122 in the best-ball event, four strokes behind winners Dave Petrella, Don Davison, Sam McDanel and Pete Rippee of Stonecrest Golf Club.

The Union baseball squad will begin its post-season play when it hosts Cameron County at 4 p.m. Monday.The Golden Knights (10-6) are the No. 6 seed in the District 9 Class A playoffs, while Cameron is the No. 11 seed.The Moniteau softball team will host Clearfield at 4 p.m. May 26 in a District 9 Class AA playoff game.The Warriors (16-3) enter as the No. 2 seed and Clearfield is No. 3 while Brookville is the No. 1 seed.

Carrie Bullman, a senior member of the Clarion University track and field team, placed second in the javelin at the PSAC Championships last Saturday at Slippery Rock University.Bullman, a graduate of Karns City, had a throw of 142 feet, 9 inches.Bullman will advance to the Division II National Championships May 27-29 in Pomono, Calif. It marks her third consecutive trip to nationals.

Jordan Foley, a freshman at Shady Side Academy and a Butler resident, led the Indians junior varsity baseball team (8-2) with a .417 batting average and on-base percentage of .667.
