Westminster College and Grove City College will compete in Division III women's basketball tournament games Wednesday night.

Westminster (20-7) faces Dickinson College (24-3) at 7 p.m. in Carlisle in NCAA play. Grove City (16-9) travels to second-seeded DeSales University (20-7) for a 6 p.m. ECAC tournament game in Center Valley.

The Butler County Community College men's basketball team will be competing in the Region XX Tournament at Frederick County Community College in Frederick, Md.The Pioneers received a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Germantown (Md.)-Anne Arundel (Md.) game at 8 p.m. Thursday.

MIAMI - Alonzo Mourning signed a contract Tuesday to rejoin the Miami Heat, the NBA team with whom he spent eight previous seasons - a stint twice interrupted by kidney disease. He's expected to make about $325,000 for the rest of the season, a prorated share of the $1.1 million minimum veteran contract.Mourning, who underwent a kidney transplant in December 2003, said he's received full clearance by doctors to resume playing. Dr. Gerald Appel, a kidney specialist at Columbia University Medical Center, said Mourning is in better shape now than at any time in the last 4½ years.Mourning missed the 2002-03 season, his last with Miami, because of his kidney problems. He signed a $22.6 million, four-year deal with New Jersey, but the Nets soon fell from title contention. Mourning briefly retired after the transplant, yet returned this season.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Tim Hudson completed a $47 million, four-year contract extension with the Atlanta Braves Tuesday, giving up the chance to go through free agency at the end of the season.Hudson will make $6.75 million this year. His new deal calls for a $10 million signing bonus, payable when the contract is approved by the commissioner's office, and salaries of $4 million in 2006, $6 million in 2007 and $13 million each in 2008 and 2009.Hudson was traded from Oakland to Atlanta in December.

OBERHOFEN, Switzerland - Austrian skier Hans Knauss Tuesday was banned for 1½ years by the sport's international federation after testing positive for the steroid nandrolone.The ban covers the 2006 Turin Olympics and could end the 33-year-old skier's career. Knauss has won seven World Cup races in 14 seasons and was a giant slalom silver medalist at the 2003 world championships.Knauss' lawyer, Christian Flick, said he would appeal in an attempt to reduce the ban to a year.Knauss had faced a possible two-year ban, but the federation doping panel ruled he did not act intentionally.
