The seventh-grade team captured first place on Friday night; the eighth-grade team on Saturday.

The teams are coached by Meghan Lewis and Sandy Augustine.

NEW YORK - Baseball players and owners agreed Sunday to drop the possibility of fines for steroid use, leaving suspensions as the only discipline.Rob Manfred, baseball's executive vice president for labor relations, said Sunday that his side had reached an agreement with union head Donald Fehr that would eliminate the fine provisions from the language of the agreement. Players and owners announced the agreement Jan. 13 but it has not been finalized.Congressmen repeatedly criticized baseball for the fine possibility during Thursday's hearing before the House Government Reform Committee.

DALLAS - Don Nelson, the second-winningest coach in NBA history, resigned as coach of the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday and turned the team over to protege Avery Johnson.The 64-year-old Nelson also had the title of general manager, but most of those duties were done by his son, Donnie, the team's president of basketball operations. The elder Nelson will stay with the team as a consultant.Nelson leaves with a career record of 1,190-880 over 27 seasons, including stints with Milwaukee, Golden State and the New York Knicks. Only Lenny Wilkens has won more games as a coach - 1,332.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Kenny Perry lost a three-shot lead in three holes, but emerged the winner in the Bay Hill Invitational on Sunday when Vijay Singh hit his ball into the water on the 18th hole en route to a double bogey.Perry closed with a 2-under 70 and at age 44 became the oldest winner of Arnold Palmer's tournament. Perry finished at 12-under 276 for his eighth career victory, worth $900,000.Singh replaced Tiger Woods at No. 1 in the world. With Woods finishing out of the top 20, Singh only had to finish fourth to return to No. 1 in the world ranking.

SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN, Ariz. - Annika Sorenstam won her fourth straight LPGA Tour start, making up four strokes in the last three holes and then beating Lorena Ochoa on the first hole of a playoff in the Safeway International.The victory - the 58th of Sorenstam's LPGA career - was her second in two events this year and sixth in her last eight tournaments. The four-time LPGA player of the year and scoring record-setter won her season debut in Mexico City two weeks ago.
