Kristen Lindsey of Butler County, a 19-year Special Olympics veteran and 1994 high school graduate, is a 2005 graduate of the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Global Messenger program.

Lindsey will serve as an official spokeswoman for the organization and will actively promote the growth and visibility of Special Olympics.

Since its inception in 1988, 150 athletes have graduated from the Global Messenger program.

Slippery Rock University recently made the following changes to its athletic coaching staff.Jim Yeamans was named interim head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams. He also serves as head coach of both the men's and women's water polo teams.Yeamans replaces Andy Waeger, who left the SRU swimming teams to become the head women's coach at Lock Haven University.Jamal Palmer was named an assistant coach of the men's basketball team. He previously served in that capacity at Shippensburg University for two years.Palmer replaces Jeromy Yetter, who has taken an assistant coaching position on the men's basketball team at Tusculum College in Tennessee.
