Monica Glomb, who will enter her junior year at Mars High next month, helped the Pittsburgh Patriots softball team to a first-place finish at the Beaver County Bash last weekend.
Glomb pitched all seven games, which included 49 innings over two days. Her team went undefeated in the tournament.
The Patriots will next play in Toledo, Ohio, at the Fast Pitch Classic with 50 other teams.
The Butler Summer-League volleyball team won a tournament held at Butler County Community College on Thursday.The squad entered play as the fourth seed and defeated Ford City, Grove City and Hampton, all by scores of 2-1.
