Jenna Rinker, 14, of Slippery Rock placed second with a 93 for 18 holes in the girls 13-to-15 division at a recent golf tournament at Borland's Golf Center in New Wilmington.

Her brother, Brett, 10, won the 8-to-10 boys division with a 31 over nine holes on the par 3 course.

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins made their first move designed to provide some protection for No. 1 draft pick Sidney Crosby, signing free agent forward Andre Roy to a $3 million, three-year contract on Thursday.The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Roy, a fourth-line left wing for the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning in 2003-04, adds a physical presence that the Penguins have largely lacked for three seasons.Roy became a free agent because he was a 10-year veteran making less than the NHL minimum salary of $450,000.Roy has played 310 NHL games with Boston, Ottawa and Tampa Bay and has shown an ability to finish plays as well as being as physical force. He scored 10 goals in 2002-03 with Tampa Bay and had a playoff goal during the Lightning's Stanley Cup run.

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Baltimore fired manager Lee Mazzilli in the middle of a massive slide Thursday, just three days after Orioles slugger Rafael Palmeiro became the biggest major league star to be caught using steroids.Sam Perlozzo was appointed interim manager for the rest of the season - and he won his first game. The Orioles beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-1 to end an eight-game losing streak and win for only the second time in 16 tries.

VOORHEES, N.J. - The Philadelphia Flyers made salary-cap room for Peter Forsberg Thursday by trading Jeremy Roenick to the Los Angeles Kings.Los Angeles also receives a 2006 third-round NHL draft pick the Flyers acquired from Nashville. Philadelphia gets future considerations from the Kings and space under the $39 million cap to clear the way for Forsberg.

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - As sure as the ball will fly 10 percent farther at altitude, the International will be delayed by rain.For the 20th straight year, weather delayed the PGA Tour's only stop in Colorado Thursday. Heavy, persistent rain wiped out play, meaning the tournament will begin today, when the forecast for calls for a 30 percent chance of rain.
