Seneca Valley graduate Zach Jackson has continued his climb through the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system this season.
Jackson is currently 1-1 with an 8.10 ERA, nine strikeouts and seven walks in two starts for the Syracuse SkyChiefs, the Blue Jays' Class AAA affiliate.
Jackson opened the season at Class A Dunedin (Fla.), where he went 8-1 with a 2.88 ERA, 48 strikeouts and six walks. He was promoted to Class AA New Hampshire, where he went 4-3 with a 4.00 ERA, 43 strikeouts and 12 walks before his call-up to Syracuse July 26.
Jackson pitched seven innings in his Class AAA debut in a 16-3 rout over Indianapolis before losing to Pawtucket 7-0, allowing six runs in 4 innings of work.
