PITTSBURGH - Right wing Colby Armstrong, who didn't miss a single game with the minor-league's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, has re-signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Armstrong's one-year contract was worth $778,050, said his agent, Craig Oster.
Armstrong, 22, played 80 games with the AHL team in the 2004-05 season, recording 18 goals, 37 assists and 55 points. He tied for third on the team in scoring.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the Penguins in the first round of the 2001 Entry Draft.
LOS ANGELES - Mike Cameron was to undergo facial surgery one day after his frightening outfield collision with New York Mets teammate Carlos Beltran.Cameron was scheduled to be operated on in San Diego, where he is expected to remain for at least four more days. Beltran was expected to miss New York's three-game weekend series with the Los Angeles Dodgers because of a concussion and a small fracture in his cheekbone.Both players spent Thursday night at different hospitals following their crash in the Mets' 2-1 loss to the Padres.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. - Nextel Cup champion Kurt Busch will be back to fulfill the final year of his contract with Roush Racing because his car owner will not let him go early.Jack Roush said Busch sought a release for 2006 after telling him earlier this week that he had a deal for 2007 with Roger Penske.Roush already is faced with trying to fill one of his five cars for next season. He has signed Jamie McMurray to replace Mark Martin in 2007.
