PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Pirates are holding the line on ticket prices at PNC Park next season.
It will be the fourth year in a row that season and individual ticket prices have remained the same or been lowered.
Those buying season tickets will receive a per-ticket discount for the third consecutive year. Full season tickets will cost $3 to $5 less per game. Partial-season ticket-holders will get $1 to $3 off the individual ticket price.
The Pirates have the equivalent of 9,250 full-season ticket-holders - the most since the 2002 season, when the Pirates had 10,229.
Single-game tickets range from $35 for dugout boxes to $9 for bleacher and outfield grandstand seats.
The Pirates average ticket price of $17.08 is the 23rd lowest among the 30 Major League teams, according to Team Marketing Report. The league average is $19.82.
PITTSBURGH - Ryan Malone re-signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.Malone, 25, a 6-foot-4, 216-pound forward scored a team-high 22 goals and had 21 assists in 81 games in the 2003-04 season. He was tied for third in assists for the team and ranked fourth among NHL rookies in goals.Malone is the son of Penguins scout Greg Malone and played at Upper St. Clair High School through his junior year.
