The Butler County Community College volleyball team defeated the Community College of Beaver County 31-29, 30-19, 30-19 to wrap up the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Confernece Championship Wednesday night.

It was the fifth straight season the Pioneers (20-4 overall, 16-1 in the conference) have won the WPCC title.

The Karns City seventh- and eighth-grade football team defeated SlipperyRock 22-12 Wednesday to complete an undefeated season.The Gremlins finished 8-0.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kurt Busch's crew chief was suspended for two races by NASCAR for a violation following qualifying at Lowe's Motor Speedway.Roy McCauley also was fined $25,000, Busch was docked 50 driver points and car owner Roger Penske was docked 50 points for last week's infraction.
