Butler graduate Meghan Schnur has been named Big East Conference Midfielder of the Year for her efforts as a junior on the University of Connecticut women's soccer team.
Schnur was among the top 10 in the Big East with seven goals, two assists and 16 points this season. She also ranked among the league's top 10 with 54 shots.
Schnur earned first team All-Big East honors for the third straight year. The Huskies were 11-7-4 on the campaign, losing to No. 1 seed Texas, 3-1, on penalty kicks in the second round of the NCAATournament.
Knoch graduate Natalie Jenereski, a freshman on the Ithaca (NY)College women's tennis team, helped the squad win the Empire 8 championship and gain its first-ever NCAADivision IIIchampionship bid.Jenereski was 5-3 in singles play this season, 6-4 in doubles competition.
Karns City forward/midfielders Aaron McGarvey and Chris Harmon, along with goalie Josh Grenninger, have been named to the Upper Allegheny Valley Boys Soccer League all-conference team.The Gremlins won their third straight league title with a 16-3 record.

MIAMI — Shaquille O'Neal will undergo surgery to repair torn knee cartilage and is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks.The injury, originally diagnosed as a hyperextended knee, occurred in Miami's loss to Houston on Sunday.Last season, O'Neal sprained his ankle in Miami's home opener and missed the next 18 games. He sat out a total of 23 games, and the Heat went 10-13 without him before their postseason run to the title.
