MIAMI — Tiger Woods is ready for the Masters, stating so with an emphatic win at the CA Championship on Sunday, when he shot a 1-over 73 and finished two strokes ahead of Wetterich for his 56th career victory, one that earned him $1.35 million and pushed his career winnings over $68 million.

Woods won this event for the sixth time, more than any other tournament.

Woods started the day with a four-shot lead and stretched it with a birdie on the par-4 first hole — where he was 5 under for the week and has posted 16 consecutive scores under par. He three-putted the eighth for bogey, before making back-to-back birdies on the next two holes, and his control was never truly in doubt.

SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN, Ariz. — Lorena Ochoa blew a four-stroke lead to Suzann Pettersen, then birdied four of the last five holes for a two-stroke victory in the Safeway International on Sunday.Ochoa shot a 4-under 68 to rally past Pettersen (66).Ochoa, the tour's reigning player of the year, earned $225,000 for her 10th LPGA Tour victory.

PHOENIX — The NFL set a paid attendance record for the fifth straight season, surpassing 22 million for the first time.Total attendance was 22,199,712, up more than 400,000 fans from the 2005 season. That includes playoff games; the regular-season numbers for 2006 were 17,340,879, another record.The 12 postseason games produced sales of 775,551, including 74,512 for the Super Bowl in Miami won by the Indianapolis Colts.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Free-agent defensive back Dexter Reid was arrested on gun and drug charges after being pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving.Reid, a Norfolk native, won his second Super Bowl ring last month and then was released by the Indianapolis Colts. He was driving a black 2004 GMC SUV when he was pulled over at 4:32 a.m. in the city, police spokesman Sgt. Brian Ricardo said.

SEATTLE — Seattle SuperSonics' All-Star guard Ray Allen will miss the rest of the regular season after deciding to undergo surgery for bone spurs in his left ankle.Allen, who is averaging a career-high 26.4 points and made his seventh All-Star appearance last month, has been bothered by inflammation in his ankle from bone spurs. He missed Seattle's previous two games and decided to go ahead with the surgery after meeting with Dr. Richard Ferkel in Los Angeles on Friday.

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. — Martina Hingis' consolation prize for her latest loss: the $20 million milestone.Hingis reached that mark in career earnings but lost to 17-year-old Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, in Sunday's third round at the Sony Ericsson Open.
