CHICORA — Richard Berglund and Jeff Hovanec fired a 127 to win the 66th West Penn Golf Association's Four Ball Championship Tournament Tuesday at St. Jude's Golf Club.

The duo was 13-under par for the event, three strokes over runner-up Sean Knapp, a member at St. Jude, and David Brown.

Three others tied for third, each with a score of 134 There were 28 two-golfer teams in the field.

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed right-hander Esteban Loaiza off waivers from the Oakland Athletics Wednesday, assuming more than $8 million in guaranteed salary.Loaiza, a two-time All-Star and former Pirate, had made only two starts after missing the first 4½ months of the season because of three different injuries.
