We want to hear from you
Tell us what’s on your mind.
One of our goals at the Butler Eagle is to have a voice from the community on this page every day.
See something you like in your neighborhood or around the county?
Write a letter to the editor.
See something you don’t like?
We want to hear about that, too.
Every newspaper should have interaction with its readers. We report the news to you, but we can’t be everywhere.
Last week’s story about Loretta Bachman, who started volunteering at Katie’s Kitchen in 1994 and retired last week as director of the weekly free community meal, is a prime example.
A reader sent a letter to the editor (at right) commending Bachman for her years of service. An editor saw its potential as a story and reporter Gabriella Canales spent Thursday evening at St. Marks’ Evangelical Lutheran Church, where the dinner was held.
It resulted in a front-page story Friday profiling the program and Bachman’s years of service.
Something positive and heart-warming.
A newspaper also relies on its readers to help bring about change.
Have an issue with a pothole, barking dogs or speeding vehicles near your home and getting little satisfaction from officials in solving your problem?
Let us know.
We can’t guarantee a front-page story for every letter we receive, but we can offer you the space to express your opinion.
Just remember to keep letters under 400 words and to include your hometown and phone number for verification.
We prefer emails to letters@butlereagle.com, but you can express your thoughts in other formats (see below).
We want to hear from you.
