Dan Andreassi, a senior linebacker at Waynesburg College, and younger brother Tony, a senior linebacker at Butler High School, earned player of the week honors at their respective schools last weekend.

Tony Andreassi was named Butler Quarterback Club Player of the Week for leading the Golden Tornado in tackles during a 34-0 loss to North Allegheny.

Dan Andreassi was named Waynesburg's Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high 14 tackles, including eight solo, in a 25-20 win over Thiel.

Waynesburg, unbeaten and ranked No. 21 in NCAADivision III, hosts unbeaten and seventh-ranked Washington &Jefferson this weekend.

Butler County volleyball and soccer teams will continue playoff activity Tuesday.Seneca Valley's volleyball team faces Connellsville at 7:30 p.m. at North Hills High in WPIALClass AAAplay.
