CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Numerous race drivers with Lernerville Speedway ties will be competing in the first World of Outlaws Sprint Series and Late Model Series World Finals this weekend at the Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
On the Late Model side, 2007 Lernerville track champion Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, 2000 Lernerville Sprint car champion David Scott and 1990 Late Model champion Ron Davies will be among the field. Scott gave up his Sprint car a few years ago to concentrate on his Late Model.
On the Sprint side, four-time Lernerville track champion and all-time win leader Ed Lynch Jr. will compete, as will All-Star regulars Brian Ellenberger of Butler and Dale Blaney, along with 1993 Lernerville champion and current Outlaws driver Tim Shaffer.
The finale of the three-day event will be televised live on the Speed Channel from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
