KARNS CITY — Karns City senior forward Allyson Kepple was named league MVP of the All-Upper Allegheny Valley All-Star girls soccer team recently.

Two of her Gremlins teammates, senior center-midfielder Julieanne Scott and senior forward Michelle Sweeney, were also named to the 11-player first-team squad.

GROVE CITY — Butler graduate Chris Haley, a freshman kicker-punter at Grove City College, was named second-team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference.

CLEVELAND — Meridian resident Jordan Foley is a freshman running back-wide receiver on the Case Western Reserve University football team and will be participating in an NCAADivision IIIplayoff game against Widener Saturday.Case Western put together its first 10-0 regular season. Foley is a graduate of Shady Side Academy, where he recorded 198 tackles, 1,119 passing yards and 21 touchdowns in his high school career.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University defensive end Tyler Boudreau was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West defensive player of the week.The 6-foot-5, 265-pound junior had an interception, a fumble recovery, two sacks, seven tackles and three tackles for loss in a 59-34 win over Edinboro Saturday.Boudreau finished the season with 12 sacks, tying the SRU single-season school record.Boudreau is the fifth Rock football player to earn a player of the week honor this season.
