IN BRIEF
TRAFFORD, Pa. — Penn-Trafford High School has suspended its wrestling program for two weeks and Connellsville Area High School is postponing matches because some athletes have a virus known as "mat herpes."
The virus isn't fatal, but causes clusters of blisters or a rash. People get it from skin-to-skin contact and it remains in a person's system even after the skin lesions disappear.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health says four southwestern Pennsylvania schools have reported the virus, but the state isn't identifying the other two.
