Due to Wednesday's inclement weather, the District 9 Class A and AA basketball playoffs have been rescheduled as follows:

Class A Boys: Union will host Johnsonburg at 7:30 tonight in a first-round game.

Class A Girls: Union will host East Forest at 6 tonight in a first-round game.

Class AA Boys: Moniteau plays at Kane in a quarterfinal game at tonight.Karns City, which received a first-round bye, will play the survivor of tonight's game between Brookville and Cranberry on Saturday at a time and site to be determined.

Class AA Girls: Karns City will face Kane in a semifinal playoff Saturday at a time and site to be determined.

CABOT — The winners from five age categories advanced after the Knights of Columbus District 95 Free Throw Competition, which was held recently at St. Luke's gym on Route 356.Those who will compete in the regional event next month in Greensburg are:David McCandless and Anna Christy, 14; Jake Ferguson and Brooke Armahizer, 13; Drew Venesky and Samantha Logan, 12; John Ferguson and Madison Burtner, 11; Ben Andrews and Maureen Hutchinson, 10.

EDINBORO — Despite 12 points and eight rebounds from Haley Gaidosh and 10 points and eight boards from Nikki Presto, the SRU women's basketball squad dropped a 58-54 loss to host Edinboro Wednesday.The Rock (7-16, 1-7), who trailed for most of the game, took their final lead, 54-53, with 2:34 left after a Sandra Busser layup. The Rock, however, couldn't tally another point the rest of the way.Kelsey Conklin and Samantha Reimer scored 19 and 15 points, respectively, to lead the Scots (14-8, 4-4).
