FOX CHAPEL — Three Butler residents were members of the Shady Side Academy girls team that placed second to Oakland Catholic at the WPIAL Swimming Championships last week at the University of Pittsburgh.
Anne Marie Bilott was a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1 minute, 39.78 seconds), a member of the runner-up 400 freestyle relay (3:39.39), third in the 100 breaststroke (a school-record 1:08.29) and third in the 200 individual medley (2:14.80).
Hillary Cummings garnered third place in the 200 medley relay (1:53.89) and eighth place in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.12), while Tory Bruch placed 15th overall in the 200 freestyle (2:07.12).
The top four finishers in each event advance to the PIAAChampionships March 12 to 15 at Bucknell University.
