STATE COLLEGE— Butler graduate and Penn State senior linebacker Tyrell Sales was one of six Nittany Lions to receive the Coaches Loyalty and Commitment Award at the team's football banquet recently.

Sales finished the regular season third on the team with 64 total tackles, second with 39 solo tackles.

Other seniors receiving the award were guards Mike Lucian and Rich Ohrnberger, cornerback Lydell Sargent and safeties Mark Rubin and Anthony Scirrotto.

The sixth-ranked Nittany Lions play USCin the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.

Ted Holben of the Butler County Bowling Association finished second in the all events, Class 1, handicapped division of the recently concluded 42nd annual Pennsylvania State Seniors Bowling Tournament.Holben's score was 2,047. The division's champion was James Beimel of St. Marys with a 2,155.
