Mars, Knoch and Freeport were well-represented in the WPIAL Section 2-AA boys soccer all-star team.

Mars, the WPIAL champion, had four players make the Finest 15 list: senior forwards Ryan McKenzie and Chris Karns and senior defenders Tanner Panza and Jack Leslie.

Knoch senior forward Kevin Wood and senior defender Chris Ludwiczak, as well as Freeport junior midfielder Tahlon Kirkland and junior defender Garrett Blake also were selected.

Making the honorable mention squad were Knoch junior midfielder Trevor Gordon, Mars senior midfielder Tim Vandall and Freeport senior defender Mike DeFrancisis.

LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University forward Jeremy Deighton and coach Matt Thompson were named PSAC West Men's Soccer Player and Coach of the Year.Deighton repeated Player of the Year honors after leading his team and the league in scoring with 17 goals and seven assists. He also was named the PSAC Championship Game MVP after scoring a goal and assist in The Rock's 2-1 win over No. 1 Millersville.Deighton led the league with eight game-winning goals.Ben Lloyd, Greg Blum and Tom Pool are other SRU players named to the all-conference team.
