PSU Extension holds idea session on Wednesday
Penn State Extension is an educational network that gives people in Pennsylvania’s 67 counties access to the university’s resources and expertise. Partnering with government agencies and community organizations provides opportunities for reaching audiences from all segments of the population.
To further the work of the extension and its partnerships, the extension is inviting representatives of area agencies and organizations to participate in an “’Idea Exchange” on Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Penn State Extension office in Building 10 at the Sunnyview complex at 101 Motor Pool Way, Butler.
As we learn how to work together to support communities in Butler County through the exchange of ideas and information, extension educators, faculty, and volunteers are able to share unbiased research to help individuals, families, and businesses:
• Improve nutrition, diet, and health
• Develop the potential of youth through the 4-H program
• Increase agricultural profitability
• Manage water, soil, and forest resources
• Make sound, economical nutrition and food choices through nutrition links
• Improve parenting skills
• Deliver quality child care through the Better Kid Care program
• Support home and community gardening through the Master Gardener program
• Educate county and local officials
And much, much more!
Agencies and community organizations are encouraged to bring informational materials about their groups to share with others.
There is no fee to participate but registration is requested. For more information or to register, contact Katina DeGreen at 724-287-4761 or e-mail kfd10@psu.edu.
