TAMPA, Fla. — Penn State became the first program to win three straight volleyball titles Saturday night, overcoming a two-set deficit to beat Texas 22-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-13 and extend its record winning streak to 102 straight games.

Megan Hodge led the Nittany Lions (38-0) with 21 kills, including the final one that touched off a wild celebration at midcourt.

The winning streak is second in Division I team sports behind the Miami men's tennis program's 137 straight victories from 1957-64.

HERSHEY — Kyle Smith's 1-yard plunge early in the second half lifted Lancaster Catholic to a 21-14 victory over Greensburg Central Catholic for its first PIAA Class AA football title Saturday afternoon in snowy Hersheypark Stadium.Smith, holding state marks for career passing yards and touchdowns, broke a 14-14 deadlock with 5:29 left in the third quarter.In the Quad-A final, Sam Feleccia ran for 156 yards and posted one of three rushing touchdowns Saturday, leading La Salle College High School to a 24-7 win over State College.Feleccia's 55-yard scamper pushed the Explorers ahead 24-0 with 4:04 left in the third, sealing victory for the Philadelphia Catholic League power in front of 3,018 fans at Hersheypark Stadium.

SALEM, Va. — Levell Coppage had three touchdowns and Wisconsin-Whitewater scored 10 points in the final 1 minute, 17 seconds to beat defending champion Mount Union 38-28 in the NCAA Division III championship game Saturday.The Purple Raiders (14-1) had their winning streak snapped at 29 games.The Warhawks (15-0) won their second national championship in the past three years. This is the fifth straight year that the two teams have met in the national championship game.
