ALBANY, N.Y. — Eli Manning is going to sit out the New York Giants' preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night.
Coach Tom Coughlin announced the decision Wednesday after a scarred Manning didn't practice at training camp at the University at Albany because of stitches in his forehead.
While Manning insisted he is feeling fine after needing 12 stitches on Monday night to close a cut on the left side of his head, Coughlin said the team is concerned that wearing a helmet might break the stitches or irritate the wound.

BRUSSELS — Justine Henin will miss the rest of the 2010 tennis season as she recovers from an elbow injury.The 28-year-old former No. 1 sustained the injury at Wimbledon in July and said on her website Wednesday she would not be able to practice again until October. Henin, a seven-time Grand Slam winner, returned to tennis at the beginning of this season after 18 months in retirement.
MONTREAL — Kim Clijsters rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over American Bethanie Mattek-Sands at the Rogers Cup.After dropping the first set, the fifth-seeded Clijsters was down 4-1 in the second and had to fight off two break points against the aggressive Mattek-Sands, a qualifier ranked 101st in the world.
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Kyle Busch won his third straight NASCAR Trucks race Wednesday at Bristol Motor Speedway.Busch, who won the pole position for the O'Reilly 200, was relegated to a 35th at the start because of an engine change after qualifying. It took him only 91 laps to power his way from the back of the field to the race lead.
