NEW YORK — The NFL will offer full refunds to fans with general admission tickets if games are canceled next season because of a lockout.

Each team will determine its policies for club seats, suites and payments for personal seat licenses, the league said Tuesday.

Season ticket holders can choose to receive a refund or credits toward future games. Fans with individual game tickets can receive a refund or exchange the tickets for future games, with some restrictions.

Refunds will be paid within 30 days once the NFL determines how many games will be played in 2011.

MONTREAL — Montreal police say someone broke into the car of Pat Burns’ widow within hours of his funeral.Police said Tuesday the items stolen from Line Burns included jewelry and 30 autographed hockey jerseys.Police suspect the thieves knew the Burns family.Pat Burns, who coached the New Jersey Devils to the 2003 Stanley Cup title, died Nov. 19 after a long battle with cancer at age 58.

PITTSBURGH — Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is wearing a protective boot on his sprained right foot but is expected to play Sunday when Pittsburgh and Baltimore face off for first place in the AFC North.Roethlisberger re-injured the foot during a 19-16 overtime victory in Buffalo last Sunday. He did not leave the game and had an 18-yard run while scrambling after getting hurt.

NEW YORK — Troy Tulowitzki and the Colorado Rockies have agreed to a new contract that guarantees the All-Star shortstop an additional $132 million over seven seasons through 2020.Tulowitzki already had been guaranteed $25.75 million through 2013 under the $31 million, six-year contract he agreed to in January 2008.With the new contract, which includes a club option for 2021, Tulowitzki is guaranteed $157.75 million over 10 seasons, according to contract information obtained by The Associated Press.

NEW YORK — Drew Brees was honored as Sports Illustrated's sportsman of the year for his championship on the field and his charity off it.Brees became the award's 57th recipient when the magazine made the announcement Tuesday. The quarterback led the long-suffering New Orleans Saints to their first Super Bowl title in February, lifting the spirits of the hurricane-battered city.But the cover story notes he's done much more than inspire with his brilliant play. Since Brees joined the Saints in 2006 months after Hurricane Katrina, his foundation has worked with nearly 50 New Orleans schools and organizations to aid in recovery.Brees is the fifth NFL quarterback to be honored and third in six years.
