SLIPPERY ROCK — Seneca Valley graduate Eric Geddis, a member of Slippery Rock University's cross country team, is a repeat member of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team.
To be eligible, a student athlete must maintain a grade-point average above 3.25 and finish in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships or top 50 percent at the national championships.
Geddis was 59th at the regional meet.
Other all-academic honorees for SRU cross country are Alex Koksal, Brian Ulrich, Jen Harpp, Crystal Burnick, Sally Dugas, Abby Michaelian, Becky Younger, Stephanie Case and Becky Belding.
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University women’s softball team was picked to finish tied for fourth in the PSAC West preseason coaches poll.Coming off a 22-21 season, The Rock will be led by Butler graduate and sophomore first baseman Jenna Geibel (.385 11 HR, 37 RBI) and junior shortstop and Knoch graduate Kirsten Brant (8 HR, 24 RBI).California (Pa.) was picked to win the division.
