KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that the Kansas City Chiefs and cornerback Stanford Routt have agreed to terms on a $19.6 million, three-year deal.

The person, speaking on condition of anonymity Monday because the team had not announced the deal, said the agreement includes a $4 million signing bonus and $6 million the first season.

NEW YORK — Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended two games without pay by the NBA for throwing a ball at an official during a game.Stu Jackson, the NBA's executive vice president for basketball operations, announced the suspension Monday, one day after Rondo received two technical fouls and was ejected late in the third quarter of Boston's 96-81 loss at the Detroit Pistons.

DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has moved into the top 20 on the NBA career scoring list.Nowitzki moved into 20th on the list Monday night with seven points in the first quarter in a game against Boston.That gave Nowitzki 23,335 points, one more than Hall of Famer Robert Parish had in 21 seasons, 14 with the Celtics. At No. 19 on the list is Boston's Kevin Garnett (23,719), who missed Monday's game for personal reasons.

DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings have put goaltender Ty Conklin on waivers.If Conklin isn't claimed by noon EST Tuesday, he will be assigned to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

CATAWBA, N.C. — Suspended NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield has been indicted by a grand jury in North Carolina on charges of possession of stolen goods stemming from a Nov. 1 search of his property.Mayfield calls the charges in Catawba County “baseless,” saying the goods were his property and adding that he has been cooperating with investigators.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Greg Oden has suffered yet another setback with his troublesome knees.The often-injured 7-foot center was undergoing a minor procedure Monday to clear out debris in his left knee in Vail, Colo., when the surgeon determined there was additional damage and performed microfracture surgery, the Portland Trail Blazers said.
