ORLANDO, Fla. — Kobe Bryant has surpassed Michael Jordan as the NBA All-Star game's greatest scorer.
Bryant broke Jordan's record of 262 points on a dunk with 4:57 left in the third quarter. That gave him 20 points for the game.
Owner of a record-tying four All-Star MVP awards, Bryant began the night with 244 points in the 12 games he had played in. He passed Oscar Robertson (246 points) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (251) earlier in Sunday night's game.
Bryant tied the record on two free throws in the third quarter, taking a break between them to wipe blood from his nose after a hard foul from Miami's Dwyane Wade.
Jordan played in 13 All-Star games.

Perez said Sunday he had thrown about 30 pitches Thursday when he pulled up with what he thought was a cramp.Instead, he strained an oblique muscle.Trainer Lonnie Soloff said there's still a chance Perez will be ready for opening day on April 5, depending on how he does with treatments.
NEW YORK — The Rangers traded exiled forward Wojtek Wolski to the Florida Panthers for minor league defenseman Michael Vernace and a third-round pick in the 2013 draft.The deal was completed Saturday, two days before the NHL trade deadline.
OTTAWA — The Ottawa Senators moved quickly to add insurance with their top goalie out of the lineup.The team acquired 6-foot-7 Ben Bishop from the St. Louis Blues on Sunday for a second-round draft pick in 2013. Down in the minors, Bishop has been among the best goalies in the American Hockey League this season.He joins the Senators less than a week after Craig Anderson had surgery for a severed tendon in his right hand.
