PITTSBURGH — Butler native Tony Grenek has been named American Mideast Conference Womnen's Basketball Coach of the Year.
During his first season as head coach at Point Park University, Grenek has led the Pioneers to a school-record 23 wins, their first AMC tournament title and a regular season league co-championship with a 12-2 record.
Grenek played for and coached men's basketball at Butler County Community College. He served as the top assistant coach for the Seton Hill University women's basketball team the past five years before taking the reins at Point Park this season.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior guard Devin Taylor and junior forward Tabari Perry have been named first and second team All-PSAC West, respectively, in men's basketball.Taylor averaged 13.5 points per game and led the PSAC with 9.8 rebounds per game. Perry averaged 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.The Rock was 17-10 this season, ending the campaign with a 77-69 first-round PSAC Tournament loss at Mercyhurst Tuesday night.<B></B>
