ERIE — Butler graduate Paige Allen, a freshman on the Penn State Behrend women's indoor track and field team, broke the school's record in the 60 meters.
Allen ran the event in 8.14 seconds, finishing second at a meet held at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She holds the Butler High School 60-meter indoor record as well.
CLEVELAND — Kentucky Wesleyan senior and Slippery Rock High graduate Karly Rhoads surpassed 1,000 career points in an 81-57 win over Ursuline Wednesday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena.Rhoads, a point guard for the Panthers, needed just one point for the milestone and scored eight. She is 16th on the Kentucky Wesleyan all-time scoring list.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University punter James McCombie has gained first team honors on the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team.Senior wide receiver John Schademan earned second team honors while quarterback Nigel Barksdale received honorable mention.McCombie led the PSAC and was fifth in the nation, averaging 43.2 yards per punt. Schademan had 77 catches for 1,484 yards and 15 touchdowns while Barksdale threw for 3,736 yards and 30 scores.
