Comedy of 'Fools' Red Barn Players perform play by Simon

FOMBELL — The Red Barn Players are opening their summer season with the comedy "Fools," with shows through Saturday.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. through Satuday at the Red Barn Theatre, 1279 Route 288, also known as Ellwood-Zelienople Road. Tickets are $10.

The show, written by Neil Simon, is directed by Paul Angelucci of New Castle.

"Fools" is the story of Leon Tolchinsky who is ecstatic when he learns he has landed a terrific teaching job in an idyllic Russian hamlet.

When he arrives he finds people sweeping dust from the stoops back into their houses and people milking upside down to get more cream. The town has been cursed with "Chronic Stupidity" for 200 years, and Leon's job is to break the curse.

Cast members include: Bob Olsavicky and Tom Hilliard, both of Butler.
