Nicolaes Berchem's "Roman Fountain with Cattle and Figures" is part of "The Dutch Italianates: Seventeenth-Century Masterpieces from Dulwich Picture Gallery" on display at the Frick Art Museum in Point Breeze.

PITTSBURGH — The Frick Art & Historical Center is showing "The Dutch Italianates: Seventeenth-Century Masterpieces from Dulwich Picture Gallery" through Sept. 20 at the Frick Art Museum, 7227 Reynolds St. in Point Breeze.

The exhibit features 39 paintings by 17 masters of the Dutch Italianate style from the collection of the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London, called the best small museum in Europe.

Italy has always exerted a powerful influence on artists, and during the 17th century many Dutch artists — some of whom visited Italy and others who did not — infused their landscapes with the feel of the Roman countryside.

The exhibition highlights the famed Dutch masters, including Aelbert Cuyp (1620-1691), Adam Pynacker (1620/1¿1673), Jan Both (c. 1615¿1652) and Nicolaes Berchem (1620-1683).

Admission to The Frick Art Museum, Car and Carriage Museum, Greenhouse and Playhouse is free.

Docent-led tours of "The Dutch Italianates" are available free at 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Tours of Clayton, the former home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick, are available for $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, students and military personnel, and $6 for youths age 16 and younger.

Free parking is available in the Frick's off-street lot or along adjacent streets.

The Frick is open regularly from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays; closed Mondays and major holidays.
