Giles Ralston (Matthew Hooks) discovers his wife Molly (Natalie Falise) has a secret she does not wish to share in the Freeport Theatre Festival production of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap."

LEECHBURG — Freeport Theatre Festival presents Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap," directed by Marushka Steele," from Aug. 14 to 30.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The quintessential English murder mystery about guests trapped in a country guest house, and a detective's search for the killer before the guests are all murdered, presents confounding, tantalizing and amusing sequences for audience members.

The story is about a young couple, Mollie (Natalie Falise of New Kensington) and Giles Ralston (Matthew Hooks of Oakmont), who have converted an old monastery into a country guest house called Monkswell Manor.

On their opening night as innkeepers, they are snowed in with an assortment of odd guests: Christopher Wren (Phil Powell of Cranberry Township), a flighty, neurotic young man; Mrs. Boyle (Donna McKee of Mars), a most unpleasant woman; Major Metcalf (Alexander Lindsay of Sarver), a retired British military officer; and Miss Casewell (Allison Bollinger of Bell Township), a rather aloof young woman with an edge. Each has a secret to keep.

Then arrives an uninvited guest, Mr. Paravicini (Courtney Riffer of East Vandergrift). and finally, a skiing Detective Sergeant Trotter (James Salyers of Apollo).

It's not long before a murder occurs. The search is on for the murderer before another murder takes place in this who-dunit.
