Lutherlyn in Prospect will host "Archaeology and History of the Venango Trail" from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 26, featuring "digging" into Lutherlyn's past along the historic trail. McConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, just over the Butler County line into Lawrence County, has regular hours only through Labor Day. They are from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Interpretive tours of the historic mill, which include a corn grinding demonstration and last about 45 minutes, are available at 1 and 2 p.m. Friday and 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Group tours may be scheduled by calling 724-368-3612. Other times are available by appointment. The 17th annual Heritage Festival will be Sept. 26 and 27.

<B>Rodef Shalom Biblical Botanical Garden, </B>Shadyside, is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and noon to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 15. The current exhibit is "Lookin' Good Then and Now." Admission is free. Call 412-621-6566.
