The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will present its "Amber Waves" concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in the auditorium of Butler Intermediate High School, 551 Fairground Hill Road.

"Amber Waves" is the second concert of our 61st season themed "The Dream of America."

Featured soloists are Butler County Symphony concertmaster Galina Istomin, who emigrated from Russia in 1991, and her daughter Katerina, a recent Juilliard graduate, who will play Mozart's "Sinfonia Concertante" for violin and viola.

Reserved seat tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students and can be obtained at the Symphony Association office, 259 S. Main St. At the door, adult tickets will cost $18.

The Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., will host a "Shichi-Go-San" or "7-5-3" program from 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 14.The program marks a Japanese children's festival that celebrates girls who are age 3, boys who are age 5, and girls and boys who are age 7.Dixie Lipnichan will lead children in a story, learning Japanese words, making a craft and playing games.Children ages 3 to 10 are invited to participate in this free program.
