We cry out to you, Always-Loving, Always-Listening God, with hearts that break over our city’s pain and with spirits that long for our city’s redemption. In these moments of prayer, we commit ourselves, individually and collectively, to Scriptural holiness and Christ-centered living, so that we might become an integral part of the transformation that you are generating in Butler and beyond.

We commit to allowing the Lordship of Jesus Christ to hold redemptive authority over every portion of our life.

We commit to allowing the Holy Spirit to prevent us from becoming cynical, hateful, or bitter in any circumstance.

We commit to filling even the nooks and crannies of our life with prayer, so that our whole day becomes an extended dialogue with you.

We commit to standing against injustice wherever we find it, so that those who are mistreated will feel seen, heard, and valued.

We commit to following Jesus with such passion and devotion that his priorities become our priorities, and the people he loves become the people we love.

We commit to seeing the face of Jesus in the countenance of every person we encounter, so that our recognition of the sacred worth of each person begins to dismantle within us the sins of racism, sexism, bigotry, and hatred.

We commit to loving you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, so that there is no room left in our life for lesser gods.

We are yours, O God, and yours alone. Bring us into alignMent with who you created us to be, so that our lives might become the sacred instruments through which you bring hope and healing to our city.
