Beachem

Florence Majors Beachem, 83, North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, died Tuesday at her home after a 20-month illness.

Born Aug. 21, 1924, at the Red Brick House on Wurtemberg Road, she was the daughter of Arthur Dell and Estella Miller Majors.

She formerly worked at Shenango Pottery and at the Ellwood City Knitting Mill.

Mrs. Beachem was a member of the First Christian Church and the Speeders group at the church. She also was a member of the Ellwood City Historical Society, the Ellwood City Women's Club, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Koffee Klatch Bowling League. She belonged to several card clubs and enjoyed traveling, camping, crocheting and country and gospel music.

Survivors include five sons, Randall Beachem, Richard and Sue Beachem, Rudolph Beachem and his companion, Cindy Funari, and Charles and Darlene Wimer, all of Ellwood City and Dallas and Yolanda Wimer of Downey, Calif.; and two daughters, Ruth Miller and her companion, Don Petrilla, and Trudie and Lemont Hamilton, all of Ellwood City.

Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren 10 great-great-grandchildren and her dog, Otis.

Her husband, Francis "Newt" Beachem, died April 9, 1994. She also was preceded in death by a son, John Wimer in 2002; a sister, Betty Ruth Tompkins in 1990; a brother, James Edward Majors in 1946, a daughter-in-law, Martha Malik Wimer in 2006; a son-in-law, Dennis McKeough in 1982; two grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Hamilton in 1979 and Peter Carrillo in 1996.

<B>BEACHEM </B>— Friends of Florence Majors Beachem, who died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Marshall Funeral Home</B>, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
