At a recent Children's Day program at the Maridon Museum, Jonathan Dreher helped participants plant a cherry blossom tree. Dreher will be the speaker at the next installment of the museum's spring garden lecture series on Saturday. He will talk about "Adding Elements of a Japanese Garden into Your Garden."

The Maridon Museum will host the next installment in its spring garden lecture series from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 322 N. McKean St.

Jonathan Dreher, owner of Dreher Garden Design, will talk about "Adding Elements of a Japanese Garden into Your Garden."

In this lecture, participants will learn how to incorporate underused trees to bring certain qualities to their own gardens.

Cost is $20 for nonmembers and $15 for members; lunch is included. Reservations are required. Call 724-282-0123.

Upcoming programs at the Maridon include a display of samurai dolls in the museum's multipurpose room throughout June.

A Kusudama ornament origami class will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 7. The cost is $30 for nonmembers and $25 for members. All materials and lunch are included. Reservations are required.

A summer language camp for first through fourth graders will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 9 to 13. During this interactive program, students will be exposed to the language and culture of Japan. Reservations are required, and the fee is $50 for nonmembers and $45 for members.

Regular museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays and holidays.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children younger than 8. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tours are led by trained docents and are available with advance notice. Call 724-282-0123.
