Westlake Village, Calif. — Adam Klutinoty of the Butler band, About a Mile, is one of only 25 contestants remaining from the thousands that entered Guitar Center's King of the Blues annual search for the greatest undiscovered blues guitar player.

As one of 25 semifinalists in the fourth annual King of the Blues nationwide search, Klutinoty will travel to Guitar Center Brooklyn in New York on July 15. He will perform in front of a panel of judges and compete for a slot in the finals that take place on Sept. 2 in Los Angeles.

If he makes it to the finals and is crowned King of the Blues, he would receive: $25,000 cash; endorsement deals from Gibson, Ernie Ball, Boss and Egnater; a feature in Guitar World Magazine; a Gibson 1960 50th Anniversary ES-335, Epiphone 1965 Elitist Casino, and other equipment.

Local King of the Blues competitions were held at Guitar Centers nationwide. Each contestant was required to give a live guitar solo, performed over one of 30 original backing tracks, developed by Grammy Award-winning producer/guitarist Pete Anderson.

One winner from each store was chosen to move up to district competitions at 25 locations, and one winner was chosen from each district competition to compete in the regionally hosted semifinals which will be in five locations. These will culminate in the King of the Blues finals competition.

King of the Blues is one of many Guitar Center initiatives created to foster growth and success within the music community, including its annual On-Stage, Your Next Record, Guitar Center Sessions, and Drum-Off undiscovered artist programs.
